GREEN CORPORATE CHAMPIONSHIP, 2010

Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibilities by helping Kathmandu re-attain its lost greenery

As part of Clean Up The World Programme (global environmental initiative supported by United Nations Environment Programme UNEP that attracts an estimated 35 million participants from 120 countries each year), WATO Nepal organized "Green Corporate Championship" Tournament in Kathmandu, Nepal.

In this special tournament, team members from the participating corporate houses not only made fours and sixes and took wickets on their way towards lifting the first glorious Green Corporate Title but also fulfilled their corporate social responsibilities, in a completely new dimension, by helping Kathmandu re-attain its lost greenery.

The purpose of this one-of-its-kind event was to bring together corporate giants in raising awareness on the environmental issues as well as raising funds for supporting WATO Nepal's tree planting activities.

A total of five different corporate giants participated while other five supported the event by providing sponsorship.

On behalf of Clean Up The World Campaign and people across the city, we would like to thank Himalayan Bank, Bank of Asia, Kumari Bank, SUBISU Cable, Yeti Airlines, omni group, Nepal Finance (NEFINSCO), Macro Natshatra and Cooperative, and Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) for their support, and commitment towards improving the environmental condition of the valley.
