In support of WATO's vision to become the local champion in leading collective conservation efforts in locally addressing global environmental challenges, it has adopted a mission strategy to building greater network among concerned stakeholders, educating communities on environmental and health related issues, to fully encouraging communities in addressing their own local problems. |
In order to deliver the maximum benefit to the communities as well as to ensure project's sustainability, the following three key areas are carefully studied, planned and implemented in every community-driven project that WATO initiates:
It is imperative that the communities are made well aware of the extent and impact of pollution problem and its adverse
impact on public health to ensure successful outcome of any community level project works. Similarly, it is also equally
important that they develop awareness and understanding to retain social responsibility of initiatives carried out by
organizations such as WATO.
Keeping this in view, all activities of WATO have included a component of raising awareness
among the community dwellers not only about the activities undertaken by WATO, but also about the direct impact and
benefits of such programs to the community. WATO's community awareness work has been exemplified during most of its community development project work.

While community awareness programs are a way for an NGO to reach out to the community and inform and highlight issues of common concern,
tangible output and successful outcome of community based projects are only possible through direct community involvement through which
a sense of local ownership and social responsibility is developed.
WATO owes most of its success so far to its focus on social mobilization and combined community efforts initiatives.
The local youth, professionals, and ordinary dwellers including children are all sought for to participate in regular activities organized by WATO. Community dwellers are included in major decision making issues that directly affect their respective community through regular interaction programs and meetings. |

Building greater Network with like minded individuals and organizations |
WATO takes pride in its ever-increasing social networks with every project it initiates. WATO has always focused in involving all concerned stakeholders directly and indirectly related to the problems and project outcomes. Such approach has been the foundation of our project's success as it has brought combined community efforts in solving common problems.
We believe that one off efforts would not be effective due to the absence of collectively mobilized and collaborative efforts involving all concerned stakeholders in dealing with the problem.
