As part of Laxmi Bank's 'One Account - One Tree' green campaign,
WATO Nepal as a partner tree planting organization, conducted
tree planting activity in Kamalpokhari area on 18th Sep, 2010.
The event was also organized on this very particular day as to
celebrate global clean up campaign - Clean Up The World
Weekend.
A total of 178 people from all diverse group participated in the
program - Men, women, children, Kathmandu Municipality
officials, Bank Staff, local club members, local residents and
security officials.
300 trees saplings were planted in and around the Kamalpokhari
area with the support from local club - Kamalpokhari Sports
Club. Flyers highlighting the benefit of trees were also
distributed to the participants.
WATO Nepal will take care of these plants for next five years to
ensure that the trees will fully grow to benefit people in many
ways.
This event has certainly inspired WATO Nepal, and has
undoubtedly brought together increasing number of people in
undertaking similar projects in other parts of the city. |
